2. INFORMATION COLLECTION PRACTICES
2.1. TYPES OF INFORMATION COLLECTED
(a) TRAFFIC DATA COLLECTED. We presently use Google Analytics to track various information about visitors to the Site and users of our App. For information regarding the types of information analyzed by Google Analytics, please visit http://www.google.com/analytics/.
In addition, we may choose to track and collect the following categories of Traffic Data when you visit our Site: (1) IP addresses; (2) domain servers; (3) types of computers accessing the Site; and (4) types of web browsers used to access the Site (collectively “Traffic Data”). Traffic Data is anonymous information that does not personally identify you but is helpful for marketing purposes or for improving your experience on the Site. The App may collect certain additional information automatically, including but not limited to the type of mobile device you use, the unique device ID of your mobile device, the IP address and operating system of your mobile device, or other information about the way in which you use the application.
(b) PERSONAL INFORMATION COLLECTED. In order for you to access certain services and to fully utilize the service that we offer via the Site, we require you to provide us with certain information that personally identifies you (“Personal Information”), as well as information that will allow the Company's Products to access the Customer’s accounts on other websites. Such information is voluntarily provided by the customer when each registers to use the Company's Products.
Personal Information includes the following categories of information: (1) Contact Data (such as your name, mailing address, and e-mail address); and (2) Account data related to third-party websites that are accessed by the Company's Products.
If you communicate with us by e-mail, post messages to any of our chat groups, bulletin boards, or forums, or otherwise complete online forms, surveys, or contest entries, any information provided in such communication may be collected as Personal Information.
2.2. USES OF INFORMATION COLLECTED
(a) COMPANY USE OF INFORMATION.
Customer information is used, first and foremost, to allow the Company's Products to function properly, including logging in and otherwise accessing the customer’s account(s) on third-party websites, including Frontline Education Absence Management, SubFinder, SmartFind and SmartFindExpress. We may also use Customer Information to send you information about our company or our products and services for which you have registered, or to contact you regarding your account when necessary.
We use your Demographic Data to customize and tailor your experience on the Site, displaying content that we think you might be interested in and according to your preferences.
(b) SHARING OF PERSONAL INFORMATION.
As described above, information given by the customer at sign-up is used to log-in and access the customer’s account on various third-party substitute placement sites. Any such use of the customer’s information will automatically be discontinued within 5 days of the closing of Customer’s SubstituteAlert.com account.
The Company reserves the right to share customer information with Frontline Education™, the makers of Frontline Education Absence Management, where necessary for the conduct of business.
The Company DOES NOT share any customer information with any other third parties beyond those identified herein.
(c) USER CHOICE REGARDING COLLECTION, USE, AND DISTRIBUTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION. You may choose not to provide us with any Personal Information. In such an event, you will not be able to access and use those portions of the Site that require your Personal Information. If you do not wish to receive information and promotional material from us, you may ask to deactivate your account by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org expressing your desire.
3. CONFIDENTIALITY AND SECURITY OF PERSONAL INFORMATION.
3.1. USER ABILITY TO ACCESS, UPDATE, AND CORRECT PERSONAL INFORMATION. We maintain a procedure in order to help you confirm that your Personal Information remains correct and up-to-date. At any time, you may visit and edit your personal profile at https://www.substitutealert.com/account. Through your personal profile you may: (a) review and update your Personal Information that we have already collected; (b) choose whether or not you wish us to send you information about our company; and/or (c) choose whether or not you wish for us to share your Personal Information with third parties.
3.2. LOST OR STOLEN INFORMATION. You must promptly notify us if your user name, or password is lost, stolen, or used without permission. In such an event, we will remove that credit card number, user name, or password from your account and update our records accordingly.
3.3. PUBLIC INFORMATION. The Company's Products contains links to other websites and apps. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such websites and apps. We also make chat rooms, forums, message boards, and news groups available to you. Please understand that any information that is disclosed in these areas becomes public information. We have no control over its use and you should exercise caution when deciding to disclose your Personal Information.
3.4 DISCLOSURE UPON SALE OF COMPANY OR ASSETS. Company reserves the right to disclose user information in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of any portion of the business to the new buyer.
If the Company is involved in a merger, acquisition, or any other sale of all or a portion of its assets, you will be notified via email of any changes in ownership or changes in the use of your information, as well as any choice you may have regarding this information.
